Attic Refurbishment Project in Clapham

This attic refurbishment project in Clapham involved some redesign of the existing layout. A wall between the existing office and storage room layout was knocked down, the door layout was amended and pocket doors added to maximise usable space. The office space was therefore transformed: from cramped and disorganized to open, light, colourful and balanced.

A window seat was created where an existing low level Velux was positioned. This made good use of what could otherwise have been seen as an awkward feature.

A made to measure, hand crafted desk and storage units were installed, utilising Birch Ply along with brightly coloured Formica fronts.

Wandsworth – Artist’s Studio

This long side extension to an end of terrace house in Wandsworth, functions as an artist’s studio and teaching space. It features a small courtyard at the front enclosed behind large bi-folding timber gates. This creates a small hidden outdoor space, whilst still allowing a large amount of natural light in through the folding doors. Additional light is brought in through the roof, through two large offset rooflights and the extension connects to the main house through a large internal window. A simple material palette of brick, softwood, ply, and floor tiles was used.

Wapping – Flat refurbishment

This is a complete refurbishment of a flat overlooking the Thames in Wapping. As well as removing a number of unnecessary partitions and therefore opening the space up to the views of the river, the interior uncovers the original concrete beams and columns of the block of flats. A bespoke kitchen and living room furniture pieces were then designed around these elements of original structure.
